5 Must-See Activities in Moab, Utah

Moab, Utah is one of the most stunning destinations in the United States. Known as the adventure capital of Utah, Moab features stunning scenery. From gorgeous red rocks, to beautiful hikes in the La Sal mountains, to the culture of the city, Moab has a lot to offer. If you happen to find yourself in Moab, Utah for a short span of time these are the activities that we love the most!

1) Driving and hiking through Arches National Park

Famous for their striking red rock arches (aptly named), arches national par is a must see if you visit Moab. Whether you prefer short and scenic hikes, or longer ones, arches has something for everybody. If you go to arches in the summer make sure to bring plenty of water and food with you as Utah gets very hot.

2) Visit Canyonlands National Park


While it is a bit further than arches from Moab, canyonland national park is a beautiful destination. Split into three districts, we love Island in the Sky which is also the closest to Moab. Almost exclusively made of viewpoints, if you need to rest but still want to enjoy the scenery Canyonlands is a good choice. Most of the day can be spent here walking easy trails and taking in the views.

3) Stargazing near Moab


Utah is home to the highest number of stargazing dark sky parks globally, and Moab is no exception. Notorious for beautiful night skies, astro tourism and stargazing is unbeatable near Moab. Nearly any location works to go stargazing!

4) Go offroad: Rafting and ATV


If you are interested in going off roading, it is very popular to do so with Jeeps. Local companies can help you get started, showing you fun trails and renting you a vehicle. Other popular outdoor activities that you shouldn’t miss include rafting. Ranging from rapids to calm water, there are customizable rafting experiences all around Moab. Refreshing and beautiful on a hot day, nearly all of these rafting trips are surrounded by stunning views of the desert.

5) Exploring Moab Food Scene


Moab has a vibrant food scene, especially in the evenings. After a long day of exploring one of the national parks nearby, we love stopping by the food cart pods in Moab, or visiting local restaurants. Downtown also features microbreweries, local shops, and more that are at your fingertips to explore.
